Thora Birch

Thora Birch (born March 11 1982) is an American producer and actress. She made her film debut in Purple People Eater (1988) and was awarded an Young Artist Award for "Best Young Actress under Nine Years Old". Birch was a big star when she was a child star and was featured in films such as All I Want for Christmas (1991), Patriot Games (92), Hocus Pocus (93), Monkey Trouble (1994), Now and Then (1995) and Alaska (1996). In 1999, she was nominated for an BAFTA nomination. In 2001, she played Enid in the cult film Ghost World (2001), earning a nomination for the Golden Globe for Best Actress. In 2003, Birch received an Emmy Award nomination for playing the title role in Homeless to Harvard: The Liz Murray Story. Birch has also been a part of Dungeons & Dragons (2000) and The Hole (2001), Silver City (2004) and Dark Corners (2006). She was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2003. Birch was also the Whisperer Mary/Gamma during the season 10 episode of The Walking Dead (2019-202). Birch was born in Los Angeles, the eldest child of Jack Birch and Carol Connors. Birch is German-Jewish, Scandinavian and French-Canadian ancestry. [6] Thora is her name. It comes from the Norse god Thor who is the god of thunder and lightning. If she were a child, that would be the full name. Kian Bolt Birch is her younger brother. Both of her parents had roles in adult films and appeared in Deep Throat. Due to their personal experience with the entertainment industry, they were hesitant to help her, but they were persuaded by Thora's picture to agents by a babysitter who saw her mimicking commercials. Birch was four when she received her first major break when her babysitter took her on a audition for an Quaker Oats advertisement.
