Katey Sagal

Katey Sagal was a versatile and gifted performer who can perform both drama and comedy. In the 80s, she became a household favorite as Peg Bundy on the Fox series Married... with Children (1987). She was nominated for two American Comedy Awards as well as three Golden Globes during the series' long duration. Peg Bundy was a well-known and popular character, but Katey persevered after the show's end. She starred in several sitcoms, and played characters that were opposites to the raunchy character that earned her national recognition. On Sons of Anarchy (2008) in which she played the character as Gemma Teller Morrow. This was the Matriarch of the Hell's Angels-like California biker group. She was awarded the Golden Globe Award 2011 for her performance. Catherine Louise Sagal was a child of Sara Zwilling, a director and singer, and Boris Sagal - renowned television and film directors. Los Angeles native Catherine Louise Sagal began performing at the tender age of 5. She went on to study voice and acting at the California Institute of the Arts. She was a singing waitress during her "salad" times. After performing with "The Group With No Name," she got a break when she teamed up with Gene Simmons and KISS, a 1970s rock band. She gained valuable experience while performing as a backup singer for Simmons, Etta Jones, Tanya Tucker, and Olivia Newton-John. She also was a dynamic performer live alongside the diva Bette Midler in one of her "Harlettes" in her wildly avant-garde stage shows during the late 1970s and early 1980s.
