Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell (born 25th August, 1949) is an American television chef and host. Burrell was also a former instructor of the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and also serves as the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her famous spiky blonde hair and an energised persona on Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, reveals straightforward and simple techniques for home cooks. Chef Burrell also has worked in some of New York's top establishments, studied the Italian food and culture and has participated in Food Network's Iron Chef America. Burrell, who grew up living in New York State's Upstate, developed an early passion for cooking. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step for her when she earned the Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications at Canisius College Buffalo NY. She states "I enjoyed being a Culinary Institute of America student. I enjoyed every moment." The Culinary Institute of America was a great place to study. After graduating, Burrell spent one year studying at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working at the Umbrian restaurant La Taverna del Lupo as and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, an Michelin-starred restaurant. While in Italy the chef gained an appreciation and appreciation for Italian culinary traditions. It had a significant effect on the way she thinks about food. Burrell was an Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board member, which aims to enhance the lives of children who face obstacles. Burrell also serves as a Juvenile Disease Research Foundation celebrity ambassador and advocates awareness of children's diabetes. She talks about her culinary passion, and also shares her expertise in the culinary world, as she regularly goes on trips across the USA in both her roles as speakers and mentors. In her journey to culinary excellence, Anne has often said that I am so lucky to be able to share what I love most to others.
